If you are an active person in the second half of life who’s yearning to feel fully alive and engaged, then join us for this Pacific Coast Reset, where you will deepen your connection to what lights you up now, strengthen your body-mind resilience, and wash away uncertainty so that you can naturally and effortlessly live your best life with intention, courage, and joy.

A warm Pacific breeze welcomes you to Paradise…
Barefoot and unhurried, you head for the ocean which sparkles endlessly before you. The sunlight filters through swaying palms. The sand is warm beneath your feet. As you wander in, playful waves splash at your shins, then your knees, then a bigger wave surprises you and you laugh out loud. You feel like a kid again. A whole week stretching out before you – totally yours.
You lie back and float weightlessly beneath the beautiful blue sky. It’s so clear now – the rightness of this decision: to come, to pause, to remember yourself beneath the noise, the responsibilities, and the quiet concerns about losing momentum. You drop below the surface, swim towards shore, and emerge feeling lighter, refreshed, and free.
Wrapped in a cotton towel cradled by a hammock swaying gently in the shade, you observe the waves as they rise, fold, dissolve onto the sand, and then recede back to the ocean – again and again – steady, soothing, timeless.
Your mind quiets.
Your nervous system settles.
You sense your body awaken in ways that feel nourishing rather than demanding.
As the sun melts into the Pacific, you realize this retreat is not an escape from your life – it is a return to the truest, most alive version of yourself. You know you will sleep deeply and awake ready to celebrate another day in paradise.

“I have been taking yoga classes from Sharon since 2020. I’ve attended classes through Zoom, in person and also participated in three of her retreats. She is by far the best yoga teacher I’ve had in my 26 years of yoga. She’s kind, thoughtful and her cues are always spot on for the poses. I look forward to any opportunity to practice with Sharon.” – Barb S.

I have never been to Mexico. Will I need a passport or visa?
Yes, you will need a passport to visit Mexico.
No visa is required for United States citizens traveling to Mexico at this time.
I am not sure about traveling with people I don’t know?
Rest assured that when you register for Peace on Purpose you will have opportunities to connect with your fellow travelers. I will invite you to a private Facebook group where you will be able to introduce yourself, ask questions, share travel tips, and/or potentially coordinate plans for pre or post retreat travel. In addition, I will host two Pre-Retreat Zoom Calls where I will cover important trip details and then open it up for you to ask questions of me or other retreat participants.

Do I have to participate in all of the activities?
Of course not – you are always in control and you can choose to opt out of any experience. That said, this journey has been thoughtfully curated for you to experience various aspects of yoga, mindfullness, and meditation. There will be time in our itinerary for learning, relaxing, and practicing yoga. We hope you won’t want to miss a thing!

I don’t speak the language. How will I manage?
Many people in Mexico speak English and Spanish. Airports and train stations typically have information booths or ticket counters where a person can assist you in English; and, quite often other travelers will be happy to help if you ask. Our hosts, tour guides and drivers all speak atleast a little English; so, No Problem!
What is the weather like in Mexico in April?
Everyone I asked about the weather, described April as a wonderful time to be on the beach in Mexico! According to Chatgpt.com, “Mid-April falls squarely in a very stable, dry, warm period with minimal variation”. The average daily high temperatures (based on five years historical data) for Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico range from 84°F to 86°F. The average nightly low temperatures generally range from 66°F to 71°F.
On average, during the month of April, there is rainfall 6 -9 days. Historically, total rainfall is 2.4-2.6 inches.
What should I pack?
Bring layers because we never know for sure what the weather will do. Definitely bring a swimsuit (or two), sunscreen, and a hat! Remember your yoga clothes, but leave your mat and yoga props at home because Mar de Jade has plenty of props.
I would like to find a roommate. How do I arrange that?
If you would like to be matched with a roommate, then let us know. We will do our best to pair you with someone else who is also seeking a roommate. In fact, if you would like to connect with three or four other women who are also seeking community, then the women’s dorm is a great option and a great value!

“Your work is to discover your purpose and then, with all your heart, to give yourself to it”
– Buddha

Hi, I’m Sharon.
Clearing stress and worry through breath, movement and sweat – that’s how I fell in love with the practice of yoga. While working as a kitchen designer in the 1990s, my type-A personality, desire to be perfect, and perceived need to exceed every client’s expectations every time kept me pretty high strung. When I discovered hot yoga, I was hooked. It was exactly what I needed at that time of my life!
Since then, yoga has been a steady companion offering grounding during uncertainty, strength and healing during challenges, and moments of clarity when I needed them most. Because of that, I have continued to trust this path and feel deeply called to share it with others.
But, I questioned everything I thought I knew about living well and aging well, when my mother began to struggle with pain, illness, and memory loss. I remember sitting beside her in the hospital, she was in a wheelchair looking at a huge cage of small birds, when she said, “well, I guess this is my life now”. The sadness and resignation I heard in her voice in that moment broke my heart. It also motivated me to keep learning about and sharing what we can do to remain connected, mobile, engaged and grateful in the second half of life.
When my partner, JD, and I participated in a yoga retreat at Mar de Jade, we instantly relaxed into the slower rhythm of life “where the jungle meets the sea”; and, each of us experienced a profound reset. I began to imagine then that I would return to lead a retreat there one day. In addition, we deeply resonated with the mission of this family-run retreat center – the belief that healing and transformation should be accessible to all, not just those who attend retreats.
Presence on Purpose my dream coming to fruition – your opportunity to be with inspiring people like you, who long to feel vital, connected, and clear about what matters most now. Together, we will enjoy ocean breezes, movement, reflection, daydreams, clarity, stillness, laughter, and the simple joy of being fully present.
If your heart is longing for space to expand and you dream of embodying vitality and grace in the years ahead, then this nourishing and empowering journey is for you.
And, I would be honored to welcome you! ~ Sharon
